About Haiti North
The communities of Terrier-Rouge and Grand-Bassin have struggled with drought and an inadequate supply of potable drinking water for decades. Most adults work as subsistence farmers or street vendors, and poverty prevents children from attending or completing primary school. There is a shortage of medical services, and many children suffer from flu-like symptoms caused by malnutrition.
Mission - Haiti North
The mission of the Chalice Haiti North Sponsor Site is to improve the education and living conditions of Haitian children in the Terrier-Rouge and Grand-Bassin areas. Through sponsorship, the goal is to see less disease and mortality among the children; fewer drop-outs and a greater knowledge for the mothers through monthly training sessions.
Sponsorship in Haiti North
Thanks to the love and generosity of Canadian sponsors, the Haiti North Sponsor Site fully equips children for schooling, educates them, and provides for their nutritional and medical needs. The site also helps families learn how to manage their finances and groups of families are building their livelihoods with poultry farming and jam processing.
